A Peek Inside the Lesson

This is the real lesson text your child hears, read aloud by a friendly voice.

A ratio compares two amounts. If there are 3 cats and 5 dogs, the ratio of cats to dogs is 3:5.

Equivalent ratios are like equivalent fractions: 3:5 = 6:10 = 9:15.

A unit rate tells how much for one: 120 miles in 3 hours is 40 miles per hour.

Use unit rates to compare deals: 4 apples for 2 dollars is 0.50 dollars per apple.
