A Peek Inside the Lesson

This is the real lesson text your child hears, read aloud by a friendly voice.

In two-point perspective, you see an object from its corner, not straight on.

Draw a horizon line with a vanishing point at each end.

Vertical lines stay straight up and down. All other edges go toward a vanishing point.

Architects and video game artists use this to draw buildings and cities.

For parents

Try It at Home

Learning sticks best when kids use it in real life. Here are simple ideas from this course.

Parent Tip

Look at the corner of a building and notice how its edges slant toward two points. Then draw a city block together.

Draw a box

  1. Draw a horizon line with a dot at each end. These are your two vanishing points.
  2. Draw a vertical line in the middle, below the horizon. This is the front corner.
  3. Lightly connect the top and bottom of the line to both vanishing points.
  4. Draw two shorter vertical lines between the guidelines for the sides.
  5. Connect the top corners to the opposite vanishing points to close the top. Darken the box edges.
