A Peek Inside the Lesson

This is the real lesson text your child hears, read aloud by a friendly voice.

Perspective makes a flat drawing look deep, like you could walk into it.

The horizon line is where the sky meets the land, at your eye level.

The vanishing point is a dot on the horizon where things seem to disappear.

Things far away look smaller. Road edges come together at the vanishing point.

For parents

Try It at Home

Learning sticks best when kids use it in real life. Here are simple ideas from this course.

Parent Tip

Stand at the end of a long hallway or street and notice how lines seem to meet. Then draw it with a vanishing point.

Draw a perspective road

  1. Use a ruler to draw a straight horizon line across your paper.
  2. Put a dot in the middle of the line. This is the vanishing point.
  3. Draw two lines from the dot down to the bottom corners. That's the road.
  4. Draw dashes in the middle that get smaller toward the dot.
  5. Add poles on each side. Make them shorter as they get closer to the dot.
